Virat Kohli ने X पर लिखा:
"Cricket has lost one of its greatest. Rest in peace, Sir Garfield Sobers. Your legacy will inspire generations."

"It's incredibly tough to process that Sir Garry is gone. I've been looking back at the memories we shared over the years, from him handing me the Player of the Tournament trophy at the 2003 World Cup, to his warm words when he felicitated me for the century milestone. He was always so exceptionally gracious."

Sobers को State Funeral दिया जाएगा - किसी cricketer के लिए ये दुर्लभ सम्मान है।
मैदान पर श्रद्धांजलि
Sri Lanka Cricket ने LPL 2026 के matches से पहले एक मिनट का मौन रखा और players ने black armbands पहने। वजह? Sobers ने 1980 के दशक की शुरुआत में Sri Lanka को coach किया था, जिसमें 1983 World Cup भी शामिल था।
West Indies team ने भी एक मिनट का मौन रखा।
ICC का सालाना best men's cricketer award पहले से ही Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy कहलाता है। हर साल जब वो trophy दी जाएगी, उनका नाम फिर से लिया जाएगा.
एक cricketer के लिए इससे बड़ी विरासत क्या होगी.
